OEM Used vs
Aftermarket
When each one makes sense for your shop — and why origin and condition are separate specs. Full guide publishing shortly.
OEM means the part was manufactured by or for the original vehicle manufacturer — factory specification, the same as what came off the assembly line. Aftermarket means it was produced by a third-party manufacturer.
These are origin designations — they describe where the part came from, not what condition it's in. An OEM part can be Grade C. An aftermarket part can be Grade A. Radar Parts surfaces both as separate, independent specs on every offer so you can evaluate them independently.
The full guide — covering when OEM matters for fitment, when aftermarket is the smarter call on cost and quality, and how to evaluate both for the specific repair job — is publishing shortly.
